Beetroot Bread AM - Cheese Bread PM!
It was a bready bready day today at the Hub! In the morning everyone made Beetroot Bread and a few extras for the food4maccdirect orders - we call this our Community Bread.
Wow it was bright red!
All the beetroot was bought locally at Cuttleford Farm Congleton where they grow it, we also used local flour from Walk Mill Nr Chester and baked in our tins made in Macclesfield. In the afternoon we made cheesy bread - the flavour wasn't cheesy it was yummy!

A Full Day Making Bread
The report in the local Macclesfield Express about the FOOD4MACCDIRECT bread club has brought lots of new Bread Heads keen to make real bread. To cope with that demand we had to have 2 sessions today. The first one with the 'Newbies' (first timers!) making a Quick Yeasted Loaf were they doubled up the recipe and used half the dough for themselves, leaving half the dough to make a Community Loaf to sell through F4M - Brilliant!
In the afternoon the 'Oldies' ( as in they have been a couple of times!) made Chelsea Buns.
